Your Latin Radio App Privacy Policy

This page explains how the Your Latin Radio app (YLR) handles information. It applies to the mobile app only. The yourlatinradio.com website has its own separate privacy policy.

In short

Your Latin Radio is a free internet radio app. It has no user accounts, shows no advertising, and uses no analytics or tracking. We do not collect, store, or share personal information.

Information we collect

We do not ask for or collect personal information such as your name, email address, or location. The app has no sign-up or login.

How the app works

To play the radio and show programme information, the app connects to two services:

• RadioJar: provides the live audio stream and the “now playing”, “recently played” and schedule data.
• yourlatinradio.com: provides the app’s configuration, such as the list of stations and tiles.

As with any internet connection, those servers receive the standard technical information (such as your device’s IP address) that is needed to deliver the content. We do not control or store that data. It is handled by those services under their own privacy policies.

Permissions the app uses

• Notifications: the app can ask permission to send notifications. You control this with the toggle in the app and in your device settings.
• Local network (iOS): used only to find casting devices, such as a Chromecast, on your Wi-Fi network. No data is collected.
• Background audio: keeps playback going when the app is in the background or while your screen is locked.

Casting (Chromecast and AirPlay)

When you cast to another device, the app sends that device the audio stream address and basic track information (title, artist and artwork) so it can play and display what you are listening to. This is standard casting behaviour.

Push notifications

If you turn on notifications, your device creates a notification token. That token would be used only to deliver notifications from the station. The app does not send remote notifications at this time. This may be added in a future update, and only under the permission you have granted.

Third-party services

The app uses RadioJar for streaming, and Apple AirPlay and Google Cast for casting. Links to our website and social media open in your browser or in the relevant app, and those services have their own privacy policies. The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, which collect their own standard information (such as crash reports) under Apple’s and Google’s policies.

Children’s privacy

The app is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Data security and retention

The app does not collect or store personal information, so there is no personal data for us to secure or retain.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app changes. For example, if a future version collects data, this page will be updated before that change takes effect, and the “Last updated” date will change.
